  Many Hunter region events have a longstanding calender date and run throughout the year, some of which will surely gain your interest.  
     
  The Hunter Region encompasses 13 local government areas, and is a diverse mix of cosmopolitan beach side city life, to the foothills of the Barrington Tops, to the pristine waterways of the Port Stephens area as well as the iconic vineyards of the Hunter Valley.  
     
There is just so much to see and do here, to list it all would be a stretch! Here is just a sample of experiences that are available within a few minutes drive of Jandra:

  Morpeth  historic village on the Hunter River, with its charming hertiage street scape and stores.  
  Maitland Gaol  where famous convicts from bushranger Captain Thunderbolt to serial killer Ivan Milat, the Backpacker murderer, were incarcerated up until it closed in 1997. Take a guided tour from an ex-convict, or come up for the International Bitter and Twisted Beer Festival  is held in the former maximum security each November.

Hunter Valley Gardens , the award winning gardens in the centre of Hunter Wine Country. A year round destination with Snow Fest in the Winter, the Rose Spectacular in November and the Christmas Lights Spectacular with 1.5million Christmas lights on display from the middle of November through to Australia Day each year.
